Kicking myself for not doing the research and finding out about this software before spending a year laying out my new house. SO much easier with this. Took me two weeks - with no reading manuals - before having a full 3D model done. Then I went back and looked at a video or two and did some reading and realized it would have been quicker if I had done that from the start. Granted, I am a computer/software professional, but it still seemed very intuitive to me. I did find a bug, thoigh - if you're in the Library and you use the down arrow to scroll through a list of items, it will often crash. But due to automatice saves, you won't likely lose much, if anything.

Great product. And bathroom fixtures ARE included once you download (for free) the Core Catalog.

A previous reviewer stated that bathroom fixtures are not available. This isn't true, (see below), and I'm so glad I purchased this even though I thought it was. The program is very functional, and the learning curve isn't too steep. Best of all, I own my plans and don't have to give any of my personal information as required on many (maybe all?) of the "free" online options. Here is the Chief Architect response to the review where the user thought that bathroom fixtures are not available in the program: "Hello and thank you for the feedback. There are many bathroom fixtures to choose from in this product. Please be sure that you have downloaded the Core Catalog. To download, open the software then click on the "Library" dropdown menu and select "Install Core Content" This will install thousands of generic catalogs items such as bath and kitchen fixtures, lighting, materials and much more. Once the Core Catalog is installed open your Library Browser and Bath Fixtures will be found under "Home Designer Core Catalogs>Architectural>Fixtures" Note that you can also download additional free and paid premium catalogs from our 3D library. Visit HomeDesignerSoftware.com and select the "User Center" on the website."

Great software

Previous reviews had me scared about the learning curve, but this software was intuitive and easy for the basics. As I got more complicated in what I asked it to do, I used the tutorials which are clear and easy to follow. Great software to visualize your projects. Have recommended personally.

Home Designer Suite 2018 will operate with Mac OS X El Capitan

Been looking and trying different Architectural design software for the past two or three years trying to replace a program I purchased 20 years ago. My old program would no longer work with my updated operating system. Until I found Home Designer Suite 2018 I had been unable to find any program that was user friendly and would do the walls, fixtures, stairs and text. Home Designer Suite 2018 is very easy to use and and has all the necessary functions. Great program and great price.
